Christmas Wreath Tradition

The tradition of wreaths began centuries ago. Depending on the culture, wreaths symbolized the coming of spring, power of the sun, strength and eternity. Modernly, the wreath is used as a welcoming to family and friends and a symbolization of holiday cheer for the season that emphasizes on generosity, giving and the gathering of loved ones. The circularity of a wreath symbolizes eternity and the greens that are used to decorate the wreath symbolize growth and strength because of the greens ability to last through the harshest of winters.  No matter what your beliefs, a wreath adds a welcoming touch and fragrant smell to any home or office.

Our wreaths are hand tied with local greens of evergreen fir, pine, juniper, sage flower and red twig dogwood. The process starts with gathering greens. We cut tree tips throughout the saw-tooth mountains of Idaho. Cutting tips encourages branching and healthier trees. Once we have gathered all the components we will begin tying arranged bunches of greens to our frames. We are able to make a thicker more uniform wreath buy using a double rail wring and wire vs clamp style wreath. My wife Cassie hand ties our bows ahead of time so when finished we are ready to decorate. We do not use any decorations other than a bow or occasional pine cone. We do not drown the natural beauty.
